Reflection 4: Gamification

Today, our beloved lecturer Dr. Rozina has invited her Master student, Brother Khairul to give us a sharing session on games that could be used for education. This sharing session was delivered by Brother Khairul himself who is currently doing his Master in IIUM.

Brother Khairul mentioned that games have actually been used in education for quite some time. This is because games are fun and children love things that are fun in nature. Besides that, games enable the player to acquire points and rewards that make us competitive and eager to win.Brother Khairul also showed to us his presentation on Gamification in language learning by demonstrating his own game-product in his Master project. It is a session which playing games are for learning reason. We found it so amazing that games could be used in education as for some of us it is a new phenomenon.
